Solution 33791: Using the Floor ( ) Function on the TI-Nspire™ Family Products.

How can I use the floor( ) function on the TI-Nspire family products?

The floor function returns the nearest integer that is less than or equal to its argument. This function is identical to the int ( ) function. The argument can be a real or complex number, a number, a list or a matrix. The proper syntax for the floor function is floor(expression).

Example 1: Floor (2.14)

1) Press [home] and choose 1: New Document, 1: Add Calculator. 
2) Press [menu]. 
3) Press 2: Number.
4) Press 8: Number Tools.
5) Press 6: Floor.



6) Press [2] [.] [1] [4] [enter].



Example 2: Floor ({1.5, 2.7, 3.9})

1) Press [menu]. 
2) Press 2: Number.
3) Press 8: Number Tools.
4) Press 6: Floor.
5) Press [ctrl] [{] [1] [.] [5] [,] [2] [.] [7] [,] [3] [.] [9] [enter].
