How do I calculate the dot product using the TI-Nspire CAS family products?

The following example demonstrates how to compute the dot product using the TI-Nspire CAS family products.

Example: Find the dot product of lists <1,2> and <5,6>.

1) Press [ctrl] [+page].
2) Press 1: Add Calculator.
3) Press [menu].
4) Press 7: Matrix & Vector.
5) Press C: Vector.
6) Press 3: Dot Product.



7) Press [ctrl] [{}].
8) Press [1] [,] [2].
9) Press the right arrow once.
10) Press [,] [ctrl] [{}].
11) Press [5] [,] [6].
12) Press [enter].



Example: Find the dot product of vectors <1,2,3> and <4,5,6>.

1) Press [menu].
2) Press 7: Matrix & Vector.
3) Press C: Vector.
4) Press 3: Dot Product.
5) Press [ctrl] [ [] ].
6) Press [1] [,] [2] [,] [3].
7) Press the right arrow once.
8) Press [,] [ctrl] [ [] ].
9) Press [enter].



Please Note: Both vectors must have equal dimension, and the dimension must be either 2 or 3.
