Solution 34714: Correcting ERR: MEMORY on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family of Graphing Calculators.

How do I correct ERR: MEMORY on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators?

An ERR: MEMORY is given when there is not enough memory to perform the instruction or function.

To increase available memory delete the contents of any variable (real or complex number, list, matrix, Y= variable, program, Apps, AppVars, picture, graph database, or string). To do this follow these steps:

1) Press [2nd] then [+] to display the MEMORY menu.
2) Press [2] to access Mem Mgmt/Del.
3) Press [1] to access ALL.
4) Use [↑] or [↓] to move the cursor next to the item you wish to delete, and then press [del]. If you deleted a variable it will immediately deleted from the memory. If you attempt to delete a program or app a warning will display "Are You Sure?" press [2] to proceed with deletion. To leave without deleting anything, press [2nd] then [mode].

Please Note: With the exemption of programs and Apps, no warning will be given to verify the deletion. Some system variables, such as the last-answer variable Ans and the statistical variable RegEQ, cannot be deleted.

Please see the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family guidebooks for additional information.
