How do I change the settings so that the answers are given in fraction format automatically on the TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition?
The latest TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition operating system (OS) allows the calculator to give all answers in fraction format automatically.To enable this mode follow the steps below:
1) Press [mode].
2) Press [↑] 5 times if using the TI-84 Plus or [↑] 6 times is using the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition to select the "Answers:" row.
3) [→] [→] to highlight the Answers option of FRAC-APPROX.
4) Press [enter].
5) Press [2nd] the [mode] to exit the mode menu.
All answers will now be displayed in fraction format.
Please Note: To disable this mode, choose AUTO or DEC instead.
While in this mode, follow the steps below to convert answers to decimal format.
1) Press [math] [2] to select >Dec
2) Press [enter] to display the decimal result.
