Solution 27971: Displaying Input and Output in Line Wrap Using the TI-84 Plus Family and TI-Nspire™ Handheld in TI-84 Plus Mode.
When inputting data into my calculator, why does the input line continue off the screen instead of scrolling to the next line?
For TI-84 Plus family and TI-Npire handheld in TI-84 Plus mode users, OS 2.55MP (and OS 2.53MP) introduced a new feature which allows the input and output to continue across the screen instead of scrolling to the next line (line wrap). This is similar to the way the scientific calculators (TI-30XS MultiView, TI-34 MultiView, etc) display input and output as well. Below are screenshots from the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculator with the new feature enabled:For users familiar with previous TI-84 Plus family operating systems, the new feature can be disabled by following the steps below:
1) Press [MODE]
2) Using the arrow keys, scroll up or down to highlight the MATHPRINT option
3) Press the [right arrow] key to highlight CLASSIC and press [ENTER]
4) Press [2nd] [QUIT] to return to the home screen
Now, when the input or output reaches the end of the line, the handheld will split the input or output and display it on the next line (this is known as line wrap). Below is a screenshot from the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculator with the line wrap feature (CLASSIC mode) enabled:
Please Note: TI-Nspire handheld in TI-84 Plus mode users may refer to the TI-84 Plus family guidebook.
