How can I use the TI-83 Plus family, TI-84 Plus family, or TI-Nspire handheld in TI-84 Plus mode to understand probability?

Probability can be defined as the likelihood or chance that a given event will occur. Probability is usually expressed as a ratio of the number of likely outcomes compared with the total number of outcomes possible.

The TI-83 Plus family, TI-84 Plus family, or TI-Nspire handheld in TI-84 Plus mode are great tools to help students understand probability. With the free Probability Simulation App for the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Families , students can explore probability theory through interactive animation that simulates the rolling of dice, tossing of coins, and generating of random numbers. The graphing calculators also allow for the exploration of probability concepts through the Math, Angle, and Test Operations.
