Solution 11939: Entering Complex Elements in a Matrix on a TI-83 Family, TI-84 Plus Family or TI-Nspire™ Handheld in TI-84 Plus Mode.

Can I enter complex numbers as elements of a matrix on a TI-83 family, TI-84 Plus family or TI-Nspire Handheld in TI-84 Plus mode?

The TI-83 family and TI-84 Plus family graphing calculators do not allow the use of complex numbers in matrices. If an imaginary or complex number is entered as a matrix element, a DATA TYPE error is returned.

Please see the TI-83 family and TI-84 Plus family guidebooks for additional information.

Note: TI-Nspire users may refer to the TI-84 Plus family guidebook.
