Solution 11910: Archived Error on the TI-83 Plus Family and TI-84 Plus Family of Calculators.

How is an Archived error corrected on the TI-83 Plus family or TI-84 Plus family graphing calculator?

An ERR:ARCHIVED  is received when attempting to execute a program that is archived in the calculator's memory. The following steps can be used to unarchive a program using the Memory Management editor:

1) Press [2nd] [+] to display the memory menu.

2) Select [2] to display the Mem Mgmt/Del menu.

3) Choose [7] to access the user-defined programs.

4) Locate the program file to be unarchived (should have an asterisk to the left of the file name), place the cursor by it, and press [ENTER].

Once the asterisk has disappeared, the program has become unarchived, try executing it once again.

or

There may be an archived set of data or an archived variable in the calculator's memory management that is called on during the course of the program which is causing this error.

1) Press [2nd] [+] to display the memory menu.

2) Select [2] to display the Mem Mgmt/Del menu.

3) Choose [1] to display all the contents of the memory.

4) Locate the program file/data/function/variable to be unarchived (should have an asterisk to the left of the file name), place the cursor by it, and press [ENTER].

Once the asterisk has disappeared, the program has become unarchived.

Please Note: Applications always have an asterisk next to their name and the asterisk cannot be removed. Applications reside in the Archive memory and can be run from there.

Unarchiving all of the data may help to determine what is potentially being referenced in the program.

Please see the TI-83 Plus Family guidebook and the TI-84 Plus Family guidebook for additional information.
