Solution 25650: TI-Nspire™ CAS Computer Software Recognized as "Suspicious.Lop" Risk by the Norton (Symantec) Antivirus Software.

What should I do to correct the error "Suspicious.Lop" when running the TI-Nspire computer software?

If, when trying to run the TI-Nspire CAS computer software, Norton (Symantec) Antivirus displays the error message "Suspicious.Lop", update the antivirus software with the latest releases. Symantec distributes updates of virus definitions daily or weekly via LiveUpdate, depending on Symantec product version, or from their website.

The TI software does not have a virus. The issue was related to a recent update in the Symantec software mistakenly classifying the TI software with a false positive for suspicious malware.

If you end up with the TI-Nspire CAS computer software application quarantined, because you haven’t updated your virus definition yet, please report it to the call center 800-842-2737 (800-TI-CARES) or contact ti-cares@ti.com for instructions on how to recover.
