Solution 34073: Inputting Exponents Using the TI-36X Pro Scientific Calculator.

How do I input exponents using the TI-36X Pro scientific calculator?

To input an exponent using the TI-36X Pro use [x[]].

Example: 34

• Press [3] [X[]].
• Press [4] [enter].
• The answer is 81.

When inputting exponents for a negative value, it is necessary to put parentheses around the negative value. If parentheses are not used, the calculator will evaluate it differently.

Example: -44

• Press [(] [(-)] [4].
• Press [)] [X[]].
• Press [4] [enter].
• The answer is 256. If parentheses are not used, the calculator will return -256.

Please see the TI-36X Pro guidebook for additional information.
