Solution 30911: Calculating the Cross Product of Two Vectors Using the TI-36X Pro Scientific Calculator.

How do I calculate the Cross Product of Two Vectors using the TI-36X Pro?

The following instructions demonstrate how to compute the cross product of two vectors using the TI-36X Pro.

Example
: Find the Cross Product of vectors <5, 2> and <6, 1>.

Creating the Vectors:

1) Press [2nd] [vector].
2) Press [►] [►] [1].
3) Scroll to 2 then press [enter] [enter].
4) Press [5] [enter] [2] [enter].
5) Press [2nd] [quit].
6) Press [2nd] [vector].
7) Press [►] [►] [2].
8) Scroll to 2 then press [enter] [enter].
9) Press [6] [enter] [1] [enter].
10) Press [2nd] [quit].

Calculating the Cross Product:

1) Press [2nd] [vector].
2) Press [►] [2].
3) Press [2nd] [vector] [1] [2nd] [,] [2nd] [vector] [2] [)].
4) Press [enter] to solve.

If entered properly, the screen will display CrossP( [u], [v] ).
The answer displayed will be [0 0 -7].
