Solution 12290: Performing One-Variable Statistics on the TI-30X IIS/B, TI-30XS MultiView™ and TI-34 II Explorer Plus™ Calculators.

How do I perform one-variable statistics on the TI-30X IIS/B and TI-34 II Explorer Plus calculators?

The following example will demonstrate how to perform one-variable statistics on the TI-30X IIS/B and TI-34 II Explorer Plus calculators.

Data to use for this example:

x = {71, 64, 55, 7,  98}

To Solve:

1) Press [2ND] [DATA] to access the STAT menu. With the cursor (underline) below 1-VAR, press [ENTER]. The calculator is now in STAT mode.
2) Press [DATA] and begin to enter the data as indicated.
To input a data point, type the value and press [ENTER]. Press the down arrow key twice to move on to the next data point. Data points alternate between the x-value and the x-frequency, which can be left at 1.
3) Press [STATVAR] to display the menu of stat variables with their current values.

Answers should be as follows (From left to right):

n = 5
x = 59
Sx = 33.20391543
sx = 29.69848481
Sx = 295
Sx2 = 21815

To Exit STAT Mode:

Press [2ND] [STATVAR] and move the cursor (underline) below the Y option and press [ENTER]
