Solution 12791: Using a Function that Needs an Integer as an Argument in Approximate Mode using the TI-89 family, TI-92 Plus and Voyage™ 200.

How can I use a function that needs an integer as an argument in approximate mode on the TI-89 family, TI-92 Plus and Voyage 200?

Use the function that needs an integer as an argument in combination with the exact() function to get the desired argument.

For example:

The checkTmr( function. The function checkTmr takes an integer as an argument. If the calculator is in approximate mode and the checkTmr( function is used with an integer argument, the argument used by the function is a floating point number and "Argument" error is returned by the unit. However, the following is entered checkTmr(exact(integer)), the calculator will return the expected result.

Please see the TI-89 family, TI-92 Plus and Voyage 200 guidebooks for additional information.
