Solution 12171: Use of the Angle( Function on the TI-89 Family, TI-92 Family, and Voyage™ 200 Graphing Calculators.

How do I use the angle( function on the TI-89 family, TI-92 family, and Voyage 200 graphing calculators?

The angle( functions returns the angle, list, or matrix of angles of an expression, list or matrix, interpreting each element as a complex number that represent a two-dimensional rectangular coordinate point.

The syntax is:

angle(expression).
angle(list).
angle(matrix)

Examples:

• In Degree mode,
angle(0+2i)[ENTER] will return 90.
• In Radian mode,
angle(1+i)[ENTER] will return p/4.
• In Radian mode,
angle({0+2i,3+0i,0+4i})[ENTER] will return {p/2 0 -p/2}
