## Solution 25790: Calculating Net Future Value (NFV) Using the BA II PLUS ™ Calculator.

### Is it possible to compute Net Future Value on the BAII PLUSs? How can I compute the Net Future Value on the BA II Plus?

There is no built in function to directly calculate Net Future Value (NFV) on the BAII Plus. If you would like to have the ability to directly calculate NFV from the calculator you can purchase the BAII PLUS PROFESSIONAL which will directly calculate the value from the NPV worksheet. There is a way to calculate NFV using the Time Value of Money worksheet after you have calculated for your NPV using the example below:

With an interest rate of 20% calculate the NFV using the following cash flows:

Initial Cash flow - $7000 Year 1:$3000
Year 2: $4000 Year 3:$5000
Year 4: $5000 Year 5:$5000
Year 6: \$5000

1) Press the [CF] key to go to the Cash Flow Worksheet.
2) Press the [2nd] key and the [CE|C] to clear the worksheet.
3) For CFo enter a value -7000 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow] key.
4) For C01 enter a value 3000 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow] key.
5) For F01 press the [Down Arrow] key since 3000 only appears once in our cash flow.
6) For C02 enter a value 4000 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow] key.
7) For F02 press the [Down Arrow] key since 4000 only appears once in our cash flow.
8) For C03 enter a value 5000 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow] key.
9) For F03 enter a value 4 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow] key since 5000 appears 4 times from Year 3 through Year 6.
10) Press the [NPV] key to go to the Net Present Value worksheet.
11) For I enter a value of 20 then press the [Enter] key and then press the [Down Arrow].
12) Press the [CPT] key to compute NPV which should display as 7266.44
13) Press the [STO] key and then the key to store the NPV answer.
14) Press the [2nd] key and then the [I/Y] key to enter the P/Y menu.
