Solution 17609: Computing the Net Selling Price After Commission on the BA Real Estate™.

How can I compute the net selling price after commission on the BA Real Estate?

The example below shows how to compute the net selling price after commission on the BA Real Estate.

Example:  A client must net at least $200,000 after the sale of his house. If the agent's sale commission is 7%, what is the minimum selling price that will satisfy the client's requirements? What is the commission for the sale?

The solution below uses the following formula to calculate the required selling price:

Selling price = Required Net/ 1 - Sales Commission

Solution:

• Press [1] [-] [7] [%] [=] [STO] [1] to compute the divisor.

• Press [2] [0] [0] [000] [÷] [RCL] [1] [=].

The required selling price is $215,053.76.

• Press [x] [7] [%] [=] to compute the sales commission.

The sales commission is $15,053.76.
