Solution 11182: Differences between the various TI Connectivity Cables.

What are the differences between the TI Connectivity cables (gray link, black link, silver/USB, mini-USB)?

There are currently four different TI Connectivity cables, and the following is a list of their primary differences:

  • TI Connectivity Cable Serial for Windows® (black); has 9-pin serial connection.
  • TI Connectivity Cable Serial for Windows®/Mac® (gray); has 25-pin serial connection.
  • TI Connectivity Cable USB for Windows® /Mac® (silver); has USB connection.
  • TI Connectivity Standard Mini-A to Mini-B USB Cable for Windows®/Mac® compatible; has a standard USB connection on one end and a mini-USB connection on the other.
