Solution 10247: Battery Life Over Time of TI-Navigator™ Network Hubs.

Do the TI-Navigator Network Hubs have a charging memory that may cause the batteries' life to get shorter over time?

The TI-Navigator Network Hubs do not need to be fully discharged before recharging. "Memory effect" is a condition of reduced battery performance due to the battery using only those cells that are discharged fully and charged on a periodic basis. If the battery is only partially discharged, it "forgets" that it has usable capacity to fully discharge. This results in a shorter life span for the battery.

The TI-Navigator Network Hubs use a rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery pack which is less prone to this condition than other older Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries.
