In this activity, students find intercepts of circular function graphs. They also investigate the characteristics of such graphs.

During the Activity
Distribute the page to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Use the calculator to sketch the graphs of two trigonometric functions for one period
Combine the two functions and plot the resulting function
Find the amplitude and period of this graph
Determine the x- and y-intercepts
Use the sine regression to find the curve that best fits the data
After the Activity
Students answer the questions on the activity sheet.
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
