Activity Overview
This activity is a first glimpse into how to add integers. It is a modeling approach that will leave students with a mental image of the result of adding integers so they will be able to add integers without creating the model.

This is a beginning activity for adding integers. It does not include subtracting integers, but the same basic approach can be used.

During the Activity
During the activity, a Quick Poll can be used to have students answer each of the questions on the worksheet, or examples that the teacher may give.
