Activity Overview
The purpose of this handout is to provide students an opportunity to learn the keystrokes involved using the TI-Nspire and to verify the Segment Addition Postulate.
Before the Activity
This activity is designed for students to complete individually with their own handhelds. The instructor may want to complete it along with the class using TI-Nspire software and project it onto the front of the room.
During the Activity
It is important that the instructor is fluent in the necessary keystrokes to produce the final result. If the students become confused, they need to have somewhere to get them back on track.
After the Activity
As a later activity, the students could verify the angle addition postulate using a similar procedure on the handhelds.
