Activity Overview
Students will use the graphing calculator and the CBR™ to determine how far a baseball will travel and if it would be a home run at a Major League Baseball game. This activity uses differential equations to determine the distance traveled.
Before the Activity
See the attached Activity PDF file(s) for detailed instructions for this activity.
During the Activity
Follow the procedures outlined in the activity.
Students will:
Use the graphing calculator and CBR™ to write and solve the differential equations involved in determining distance traveled by a baseball.
After the Activity
Review student results
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
