Students will try to find the linear equation that best fits the sides of a mountain. They will get a realife sense of rise over run.
Before the Activity
You will want to load the mountain as the background of activity center and set the contribute part to equations. Then confifure the equations so students can resubmit and allow them to have two quations.
During the Activity
Have the students try to firgure out the linear equation that bet fits the sides of the moutnain. Then when they have have the two equations they can see that their point of intersctions was the original peek of the Volcano before it errupted.
After the Activity
You can extend this activity and fidn how high the mountian use to be.
