Activity Overview

The students will use the .tns documents GLIDRFL1 to discover the relationship between the measures of the lengths of the sides of a pre-image and image after a glide reflection. The students will also investigate orientation under a glide reflection.

Before the Activity

  1. Download the .tns document GLIDRFL1 to handhelds using TI-Nspire Computer link software or Connect to Class software.
  2. Students should do the worksheet "Using TI-Nspire to Explore".

During the Activity

This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between the measures of the lengths of the sides of a pre-image and image after a glide reflection.

  1. Distribute the Student Worksheet for distance.
  2. Students use the .tns document GLIDRFL1 to answer questions from student worksheet.

After the Activity

Review student results from worksheet.
