Activity Overview
This activity will allow students to use the football field as an interactive model for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers. Many students are familiar with the gain or lost of yards in the game of football, however most students do not realize that addition and subtraction of integers take place while watching a football game.
Before the Activity
Before starting the activity, the teacher must load the football field as a background image. Once the image is loaded as the background, the teacher must edit the window settings, the y-min. should be -4, the y-max 24, the x-min to -70 and x-max to 70.
