Activity Overview
Students review the definition of rational numbers as ratios and as terminating and repeating decimals. They also examine the reciprocal property of rational numbers and operations with rational numbers.
Before the Activity

During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Convert a mixed fraction to an improper fraction
Convert fractions into decimals
Convert decimals and fractions into percentages
Line up fractions (horizontally or vertically) to add up to 1
Play a game where missing numbers are entered, and write each number sentence and solution on the worksheet
Solve problems of multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting fractions
After the Activity
Students will complete the Student Worksheet and analyze the results.
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
