Activity Overview
In this activity, students understand the concepts associated with the graphs of linear functions. They find and plot points, sketch graphs, and calculate gradient and intercepts.

During the Activity
Distribute the pages to the class.
Follow the Activity procedures:
Complete the given table of values for the given equations
Understand the concept of gradient
Identify the y-intercept
Use the calculator to set up a scatter plot for the points
Repeat the steps with different types of graphs with both positive and negative gradients
Look for patterns between the equation and its graph
After the Activity
Students answer the questions on the activity sheet.
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
