Activity Overview
The students will use the .tns documents ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to discover the relationship between a leg of a right triangle, the hypotenuse and the segment of the hypotenuse adjacent to that leg.
Before the Activity
- Download the .tns documents ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to handhelds using TI-Nspire Computer link software or Connect to Class software.
- Students should do the worksheet "Using TI-Nspire to Explore".
During the Activity
This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between a leg of a right triangle, the hypotenuse and the segment of the hypotenuse adjacent to that leg.
- Distribute the Student Worksheet for G.G. 47 with measures AC and the Student Worksheet for G.G. 47 with measures AC.
- Students use the .tns documents ALTHYP2M and ALTHYP3M to answer questions from student worksheet.
After the Activity
Review student results from worksheet.
