Activity Overview
In this activity, students will analyze exponential growth data and then switch to a logarithmic scale.
Includes both an exponential and a linear regression on the data, and asks students to make connections between two forms of exponential models.
Before the Activity
If you are using the TI-Navigator System with the TI-73 you will need the attached .pdf file.
This activity may be used with or without TI-Navigator.
Students should be familiar with finding regressions on the calculator, and should also have some background knowledge of exponential and logarithmic functions.
During the Activity
While students begin work on the activity sheet, the teacher should send the lists to students via TI Navigator.
(If not using TI Navigator, students may work through the entire activity.)
Note that there are two versions of the worksheet, one for Navigator and one for regular classroom use.
After the Activity
If using TI Navigator, you may have students complete the assessment over the activity.
