Activity Overview

The students will use the .tns documents TRNSLA3 to discover the relationship between the measures of areas of a pre-image and image after a translation.

Before the Activity

  1. Download the .tns document TRNSLA3 to handhelds using TI-Nspire Computer link software or Connect to Class software.
  2. Students should do the worksheet "Using TI-Nspire to Explore".

During the Activity

This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between the measures the areas of a pre-image and image after a translation.

  1. Distribute the Student Worksheet for area.
  2. Students use the .tns document TRNSLA3 to answer questions from student worksheet.

After the Activity

Review student results from worksheet.
