In this activity, students will use a Heart Rate Monitor to measure their heart rate while sitting, lying down, and standing. They will analyze the data collected to determine the effect of body position on heart rate.
Students set up the Heart Rate Monitor by strapping it onto one of the students in their group.
Data is then collected while the student wearing the Heart Rate Monitor is sitting down, standing, and lying down. A graph of the data is produced and questions answered regarding the experiment.
