Activity Overview
In this one or two day lesson, students will review general knowledge of the sine graph using a LearningCheck™ quiz, generate a graph based on given parameters, and create a sinusoidal model using data extracted from the Web.
Before the Activity
Students should already be familiar with the concepts of amplitude, period, and phase shift.
During the Activity
Use the LearningCheck file to begin class. Follow the information in the Teacher handout (Investigating the Sine Curve - teacher pages). The other two PDFs are for the students.
After the Activity
Review student results:
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
