Activity Overview
This is an introductory lesson on graphing parallel and perpendicular lines. The students will have a good visual on how these lines relate to each other. This also illustrates how to determine equations in slope-intercept form of a line parallel or perpendicular to a given line.
Before the Activity
The attached files can be photocopied beforehand to hand out to the students (you may want to cut out the parts where answers are provided).
They can follow along the notes and the key sequence quite easily.
During the Activity
Students will have a good visual on how these lines relate to each other. This also illustrates how to determine equations in slope-intercept form of a line parallel or perpendicular to a given line.
After the Activity
Teachers may distribute the second hand out and give quick instructions related to the questions given.
