Taking Discontinuity Away

Activity Overview

Students will use a graphing calculator to find points of discontinuity of a function and then create a new function that corrects the discontinuity. This allows students to complete the assignment with or without the use of the graphing calculator.

Students will:

  • Understand the concept of continuity.
  • After the Activity

  • Review student answers
  • As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
