Activity Overview
Students will gain a basic understanding of the periodic table through the Self Check feature of a LearningCheck activity.
Before the Activity
Discuss the layout and organization of the periodic table including metals and nonmetals, repeating patterns (periods), and color groupings for elements created in laboratories and the states of matter at normal temperatures (solids,liquids, and gases).
During the Activity

After the Activity
Answer questions and clarify any misconceptions.
