Algebra II: Maximizing Your Efforts

by Texas Instruments

Overview

Students write an objective function and graph the system of inequalities to find the maximum profit from selling two types of game players.

Key Steps

  • Image

Students will write an objective function for the profit from selling two types of video game players. Then they will write a system of inequalities to represent the constraints in the problem situation and enter the inequalities into the graphing calculator.

With the use of the Inequality Graphing App, students will graph the feasible region and find the coordinates of the vertices of the region. Using the coordinates and the objective function, students will determine the maximum monthly profit of the company and how many of each player the company needs to produce.
