In this activity, students explore the rules of exponents. They use the program EXPRULES to assist them in testing conjectures for these rules.
Students first investigate Product of Powers with like bases. The program displays the expression that they will be calculating to explore Rule 1, 2x2y.
At the end of this activity, students will be able to apply the Rules of Exponents. They will evaluate simple numerical expressions raised to integral exponents including zero.
