TI Connect™ CE
February 10, 2015
Students explore the various properties of parallelograms and the necessary and sufficient conditions that guarantee that a quadrilateral is a parallelogram.
Students will use the Cabri™ Jr. App to discover several properties of parallelograms. Students will discover that opposite sides are congruent, opposite angles are congruent, and consecutive angles are supplementary.
Next, students will discover that diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
As an extension, students will be asked to find the midpoint of all sides of a quadrilateral and connect these midpoints to form another quadrilateral. Students will be asked to discover what type of quadrilateral is created.
