The Central Limit Theorem & Sampling Distribution of the Sample Proportion

Activity Overview

One important contribution of the Central Limit Theorem is when using statistical inference. No matter what shape the population distribution has, as long as the population has a finite standard deviation, the distribution should become closer and closer to the Normal Distribution. Here we will look at one example of how this might happen.

Before the Activity

Students should have an understanding of sampling plans and experimental designs before starting.

During the Activity

Gather data that has a skewed population distribution (auto parts, batteries, etc.).
