Activity Overview

Students will learn the graphs and restrictions for inverse sine and cosine functions.

About the Lesson

Students will begin by observing an animation where the graphs of the inverse relations for sine and cosine are plotted as the sine and cosine functions are traced. Students will realize these new relations are not functions. Students will be challenged to restrict the domain of the sine and cosine functions (the range of the inverse trig functions) in order to plot true inverse functions for sine and cosine.
