Activity Overview
Develop an understanding of the slope of a line.
Objectives
- Students will recognize that the ratio of vertical change to horizontal change is constant between any two distinct points on a line.
- Students will recognize that different lines can have the same or different ratios of vertical change to horizontal change.

About the Lesson
This lesson involves developing student understanding of slope of a line. The activity is based on examining the vertical change and horizontal change when moving between two points on a line. As a result, students will:
- Move points and observe the vertical and horizontal distance between the points.
- Determine that the ratio of vertical change to horizontal change remains constant.
