Guess My Slope
Activity Overview
Students will estimate the slope of six lines. Students will then return to each line and use the measurement capabilities of the TI-nspire to find the actual slope of each line. Students will find the absolute value of the differences between their estimates and the actual slopes in order to determine how well they estimate the slope of a line.
Before the Activity
Teacher will need to demonstrate how to find the slope of a line by finding the ratio of the rise to the run.
During the Activity
Students will record their work on the student worksheet provided with this activity.
