## Slippery Slope

#### Activity Overview

In this activity, students will create Distance versus Time plots and calculate the slopes of the plots. They explore the mathematical concept of slopes and understand how slopes can be used to interpret how one physical quantity changes with respect to another.

#### Key Steps

• Students use the CBR2 to make straight line distance-time graphs with a positive slope to be able to calculate the slope.

• Students use the CBR2 to make straight line distance-time graphs with a negative slope to be able to calculate the slope.

• As an extension, students can write a creative story to match a distance-time plot.
