Activity Overview
This Computer Algebra System (CAS) activity encourages students to investigate the various functions and applications of the CAS calculator. They study and practice various types of problems in algebra and calculus with the help of the calculator.
Before the Activity
Install TI Connect™ using the TI connectivity cableSee the attached PDF file for detailed instructions for this activity Print pages 1 - 11 from the attached PDF file for the class
During the Activity
Distribute the page to the class.
In this activity, students will:
Study the various keys and functions on the CAS calculator
Understand the use of special features
Learn different management techniques
Use the script feature
Understand how the deSolve command solve problems based on primary and secondary differential equations
Use slope fields to solve differential equations graphically
Create a user defined function
