Activity Overview
According to many predictions the world population may one day exceed what the Earth can truly handle. Your main thoughts should focus on 'can we produce enough food for the world in the year 2085'?
Before the Activity
As a pre lesson I like to take 20 minutes to go over graphs with my students. The day before I give this lesson I give each of my students a piece of graph paper and as a class we set up the graph with the title and all appropriate labels. Then I tell the students to predict how they think world population has changed over time.
After the Activity
Discuss all responses with the students. It is very important that you go over expotential growths. This assignment is for Freshman. The concept of expotential growth may be above their math standards.
