Activity Overview
This is the second activity for the Quadratic Unit. This activity allows students to use sliders to match various quadratic functions in vertex form.
Before the Activity
Transfer the .tns file by whatever means you have and hand out the worksheet.
During the Activity
Review how to change the values of a, b, and c by clicking on the arrows. Some students may just double click on the equation and input their own values.
Students may work on this activity in groups, individually, and/or as a demonstration for the whole class.
After the Activity
To check for understanding, teachers may want to put a new function up and have the students match that function.
For Algebra II students, the students could change the vertex form to standard form and graph the standard form equation with the vertex form to check for correctness.
