Activity Overview
Students will apply transformations and use symmetry to analyze mathematical situations. Also, they will represent and analyze mathematical situations and structures using algebraic symbols.
Before the Activity
Provide each student with a copy of the attached .pdf document.
During the Activity
Students will:
Create a polygon using coordinate pairs in lists by setting up a connected scatter plot.
Use operations on lists to translate, reflect, and dilate the polygon.
After the Activity
Review student answers
As a class, discuss questions that appeared to be more challenging
Re-teach concepts as necessary
