Students systematically explore the effect of the coefficients on the graph of sine or cosine functions.
In Problem 1, students use the Transformation Graphing app to graph the general sine function, A * sin (B * X + C) + D.
The Transformation Graphing app will allow you to change the values of A, B, C, and D by pressing the left and right arrows. Students can move up or down to a different variable by pressing the up and down arrows.
Problem 2 allows students to use the zero, minimum, and maximum commands to find these features of the graph. The graph has many zeros. Students must find two and record them in the table. This will help students with identifying what aspect of the graph change when changing each coefficient.
