Use Cabri Jr. on the TI-84 Plus to develop a model for multiplying binomials.
Before the Activity
Prerequisite skills for this activity include a basic knowledge of area and polynomials.
During the Activity
Send the AppVar MB to student calculators via TI-Navigator. Students explore the AppVar and complete the tables and questions in the attached handout.
After the Activity
As a result of the activity, students should have discovered the formula for multiplying binomials, sometimes known as the FOIL method.
