Activity Overview
The students will use the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP1M to discover the relationship between the altitude on the hypotenuse and the two segments of the hypotenuse.
Before the Activity
- Download the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP1M to handhelds using TI-Connect software and unit to unit link cables. ALTHYP1M may also be sent via TI-Navigator.
- Students should do the worksheet "Selecting and dragging an object using Cabri Jr."
During the Activity
This activity is a lesson launcher for understanding the relationship between the altitude upon the hypotenuse and the segments of the hypotenuse.
- Distribute Student Worksheet for G.G. 47 with measures CD.
- Students use the Cabri Jr. APPVAR ALTHYP1M to answer questions from student worksheet.
After the Activity
Review student results from worksheet.
